Mac Os Incompatible Software Folder

I have a slew of Power PC software on my computer and I know they will not work with Lion. I also know that such software was supposed to get dumped into a folder called 'Incompatible software' that would be located in the root directory of my hard drive. I have searched and searched for this folder and cannot find it.

Sep 15, 2019  After all, not everyone is able or willing to upgrade to the latest version of any software. There are plenty of people who are happy to stick with the software they purchased years ago. However, macOS Catalina is the first macOS operating system to drop all support for 32-bit apps, rendering all those apps incompatible.

Did Lion fail to locate the gobs and gobs of incompatible software? Will I need to go through manually to find all the nonworking software or is there an easier way?

  • Incompatible Software: ESET Antivirus for Mac Click Finder to open a new Finder window. Click Applications, hold the CTRL key, click ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus, then select Show Package Contents from the menu.
  • Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and OS X Lion are designed to protect your Mac from certain incompatible software that can quit unexpectedly or cause other issues. Apple doesn't explain why it does things, but presumably since PPC apps won't run at all, they won't cause problems, and Apple doesn't want to take the time to move them all.
  • Apple’s Incompatible Software Folder According to Apple, the easiest way to find incompatible software is to check the root level of the hard drive for a folder named “Incompatible Software.” This folder stores applications which are not working after you have upgraded to Mac OS X Lion.
  • Known Installation Issues Incompatible Applications macOS has an Incompatible Software folder which is used to keep software that might not work correctly with the version of macOS you have installed. Empty the Trash, and then restart your Mac. We have created two videos that show the installation steps.
